Heather Kennedy is an artist from Victoria. The design of Salt Lake was inspired by the Pink Lakes situated in Murray-Sunset National Park. In overcast weather, this group of lakes has a startling color range, from dusky mauve to startling pink. The lakes' hues are caused by a chemical compound that are exuded by an algal species that inhabit salty waters.
