YAY!!!! This is a great backing fabric for your quilts, a whopping 3 yards wide!!! You have not touched a nicer fabric, I swear!!!

I always pre-wash all my fabrics before piecing them. Unfortunately, the sateen finish of this beautiful print didn’t withstand the wash very well. Still, an interesting print.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Onion Rings fabric by Brandon Mably. We're sorry to hear that the sateen finish did not hold up well after washing. We always recommend pre-washing fabrics before use to prevent any potential shrinkage or color bleeding. We're glad to hear that you still find the print interesting.
After reading your review, we went ahead and washed a yard of the sateen in 140 F water with a well-regarded laundry detergent (liquid Persil) to try to replicate your disappointing experience. The washed fabric had (of course) lost the sizing applied in the construction process and thus felt a bit softer than the one on the bolt. The sheen typical of a sateen was not diminished, and it felt nice and silky.
Since you do like the print but not the sateen fabric, we could exchange fabrics: Onion Rings print is also available in regular width (43/44') on a percale weave cotton, not sateen. It is printed on the standard Kaffe Fassett Collection base fabric that you may be familiar with from other designs in the collection. If you wish to return the 3 yards of sateen fabric (108' wide) and receive 7.5 yards of 43/44' wide fabric, please contact us during business hours (954-254-0886).
