Song Lines green is a design by the Aboriginal artist Jesse Sutton, representing the reverberations of song in the landscape in vibrant shades of limey green and black. The fabric is printed on a soft high quality 100% cotton substrate that runs 43" wide.  It is ideally suited for quilting, home decor or fun, funky clothing.

Jesse says: This painting is called “Apii Warukara” which means “Songlines” in the Kalkadoon language. Songlines or Dreaming tracks have been a part of Kalkadoon tradition for over 60,000 years with a person able to navigate many miles across the lands by continually singing a sacred song and following the tracks of creator beings that walked and flew during the dreamtime.

From the beginning of time the Kalkadoon people have sung their sacred songs to the land to keep it alive and well, let all who read this story know that Kalkadoon history and culture is timeless and as old as time itself.

My hunt for an Australian Aborig fabric

I had been searching the internet for a particular fabric from Australia when I cam across Wax Arrow & Assoc. LLC. They were about the only business in the US for this particular green fabric. The only other business I found was located in Australia, and the cost of shipping was more than what I wanted to pay. When I cam across Wax Arrow, I was more than delighted to know they had it. I ordered all that was left, or so I thought. I later received an email informing me that more had been found, and would I like to add it to my order. My immediate answer was yes! I wasn't sure if my original order would be enough, so I was glad to add. I later received an email informing me that my original card was not accepted on the second bill. Through a crazy phone call that I placed, everything was settled. The owner went above and beyond expectations in trying to rectifying the problem, for which I am extremely grateful. Upon receipt the fabric was all that I was wanting, and more. Thanks for all the great service!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Keith! We’re absolutely delighted that we could help you find the exact fabric you were searching for—and even more so that we could track down extra yardage for you! It was a pleasure working through the order details with you, and I’m so glad it all came together in the end. Your kind words truly mean the world to us. Wishing you all the best with your project—and thank you again for your trust and support!
