Surprise! hand dyed cottons by Gabriele
These are mostly ice dyes, some of them are dyed "on the fold", meaning that the piece of fabric was folded in fourths, then dyed. This results in a surprising symmetrical dye, with lots of faces and figures hidden. So much fun to work with! Any and all colors under the sun...
Dyed with non-toxic fiber reactive dyes, extensively rinsed and washed (7 times total, 6 times cold, 1 times in 140 F water).
If you are concerned about bleeding, set in a bucket of lukewarm water overnight. If the water is clear in the morning, you are good. If not, wash with color catchers, then set in water bucket overnight again.
