Bush Banana Australian Aboriginal fabric depicts the flower of the Bush Banana, a staple of Aboriginal diet. This Australian Aboriginal fabric is printed on high quality 100 % cotton with a soft hand and is ideal for quilting, garments, home decor and other crafts. The fabric is 44" wide. Please note: The repeat is a HUGE 23" , if you want to make sure you get a WHOLE flower, please buy 1 yard and put in the notes at checkout that you want A WHOLE FLOWER.
Bush Banana is a woody climbing vine growing on other shrubs and trees. Its flowers are creamy in color, the thick narrow leaves grow on a short stock and the fruit is pear shaped. The fruits have good nutritional and medicinal value; the extract and paste of leaves are often used to treat pains and upset stomachs.

This fabric is absolutely gorgeous! Am using it along with other Aboriginal fabric for a quilt (well, if I ever get the time to finish it!!). I love the pattern in the fabric, the medallion, and the vibrant (but not overwhelming) colors. Thanks for carrying these beautiful fabrics.

I love that Fabrilish carries these wonderful fabrics created by talented Australian artists who are named and paid for their artistry. This large motif is gorgeous. It's too beautiful to cut into so I'm using it in one piece. It would also make a stunning wall hanging just by itself.
