Gregory Matthews is an award-winning artist based in Australia whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. As his roots trace back to the North-West coast of Tasmania, his works respectfully incorporate ancient symbols that are found on the petroglyphs of that region. Matthews also favors abstract nautical designs in many of his pieces. His distinctive compositions are primarily created with acrylics on canvas. He also designed the popular LOOKING AROUND fabric for M&S Textiles.

A bit too pinkish!

I have used this design before, and after visiting Australia in 2023, I now know how the design got its title. I was excited to see what appeared to be an ecru palette, but found it to actually be pink. I will use it, of course, but not in combination with the other fabric I had planned for a particular basket.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback, Marcia! We’re glad to hear you’ve enjoyed this design before, and how wonderful that your trip to Australia gave you even more connection to its meaning. We’re sorry the palette leaned more pink than you were expecting—it’s always a little tricky with screen colors. We hope it still finds a special place in one of your baskets, even if it’s not the original pairing you had in mind. We truly appreciate your continued support!
