Sandhill - Blue - Designed by Anna Pitjara

In this Sandhill (blue) Australian Aboriginal fabric, Anna portrays the effect of wind moving over the sand hills in the desert landscape near her hometown Utopia by using navy dots on a light blue background. The fabric is printed on 100 % fine cotton that has a soft hand. It is 42" wide and ideally suited for quilting, garments, home decor and other fabric crafts.

 Geographically, a dune is a hill of sand built by wind action that results in ripples of many different shapes and sizes. In Central Australia, there are many beautiful sand hills which provide a habitat for highly specialized forms of flora and fauna.
